Who Can Join the CAC?

  • Active membership
    Any person registered by the ASCP as a cytotechnologist, and/or licensed by the State of California. Annual dues are $35.00.
  • Associate membership
    Physicians, certified or licensed laboratory personnel not eligible for active membership and students who have completed their training as cytotechnologists but have not passed a registration examination and/or state licensure examination shall be eligible for associate membership.
  • Student Membership (CA Students: FREE)
    Anyone currently enrolled in an approved school of cytotechnology is eligible for student membership. Student  members shall have the rights and privileges of active members except they shall not have the right to vote or to hold office. At this time, the CAC does not charge student members. Upon graduation from the training program, a student member may become an associate member pending certification by a recognized certifying agency.
